Cover Them Project
Perpetual homelessness is one of the great ills of our society-especially in the inner cities. The shelters are overcrowded, which leaves most of the homeless to sleep in the harsh elements under bridges, behind garbage bins, or wherever they can find shelter. The winters are especially brutal.
SLEM recognizes the plight of the homeless and is committed to alleviate their suffering as much as possible.

We have two winter projects for the homeless called "Cover Them". We go wherever they are and give them blankets comforters, and pillows.

In our second winter project, we provide cold/wet weather sets consisting of ponchos, hats, gloves, socks, and some food to provide comfort and protection from the elements.
Blessings in a Basket
SLEM also serves the community by helping needy households. We partnered with another ministry to distribute baskets of household items in the annual "Blessings In A Basket" misson.
Over 300 families in the states of Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas were given toiletries, personal hygiene, and laundry items. Blessings In A Basket is growing every year as more states become involved in this endeavor.
